SMIHost is the PC/Server software which acts as a bridge between the mobile devices. This software can be installed on either a separate machine or as the main Guard system. The suite can support large numbers of handhelds and large databases of many tens of thousands of cardholders. The handheld’s either work Online via Wi-Fi or 3G or can operate Offline via a database on the device itself, using data synchronised from SMIHost.
